Orthopedic Physiotherapy (Clinic AND In-Home)

Orthopedic physiotherapy is a branch of medical science that deals with the prevention and correction of disorders involving loco-motor structures of the body, focusing on the skeleton, joints, muscles, fascia, and other supporting structures such as ligaments and cartilage. Therapists at Activaid utilize the very latest manual therapy techniques as well as evidence-based exercise prescription.  Our hands-on approach combines joint mobilization and soft tissue techniques (Active Release, Craniosacral, Myofascial Release, Functional Mobilization, and Neural Mobilization to name a few) along with targeted prescriptive exercise.

Individual therapeutic programs will be tailored to each client’s specific needs, limitations, and goals.  Exercise approaches may train the local, deep muscle systems to provide stability and support or the global non-weight bearing and weight bearing muscles to optimize muscle control and power.

Activaid emphasizes individual attention and one-on-one treatment sessions along with a comprehensive evaluation.  A clinical reasoning model will be utilized to determine and remedy the specific source and cause of your pain or dysfunction.  Traditional modalities such as electrical modalities (electrical stim, interferential current, biofeedback), ultrasound, ice, and moist heat therapies are offered in conjunction with our hands-on approach.

In most cases, in-home orthopedic physiotherapy treatment will be accompanied with travel costs for the therapist and third party insurance providers will cover these costs in most cases.  This primarily occurs with motor vehicle collision injuries where a client is restricted to their home or has poor mobility but is certainly not restricted to them.
