I was referred to Activaid after the most devastating injury I have ever faced - a ruptured Achilles. I was told by several health professionals that it would be 6 months before I would walk normal again. I began working on my rehab a week after my injury and I followed the program and treatments put together for me diligently. Three short months later I was competing on the international stage at Fitness Universe. The results we achieved together were record breaking and I am so grateful for their expertise and commitment on my road to recovery. Any serious athlete looking to get back to their sport in the most efficient and quickest way will be in the best of hands at Activaid.

After years of competition in mixed martial arts, I felt like my body had suffered irreparable damage and was unable to compete at the level I wanted. My injuries also started to affect my career and personal life. Being a firefighter, I expose myself to further trauma with every shift and have high expectations from a physical point of view. Doing rehabilitation with Activaid is making me feel stronger and faster than ever. I am training smarter now and doing exercises to stop recurrences. Not only am I feeling like I can get back into a competitive environment, I also feel like I can do my job better and have no issues if a friend asks me to help move a couch. I would recommend Activaid to anyone who wants to perform better in sport as well as recover and prevent injuries in everyday life.

I came to Activaid Physiotherapy after a workplace injury; within the first week of attending Activaid I was given a better understanding of the nature of my injury and what would be required to get me on the road to recovery. By the beginning of the second week of therapy I had already developed muscles in the area I needed to focus on. The staff at Activaid has been supportive, patient and encouraging. They have been fully involved in my recovery and strength building. It has been their knowledge and support that has allowed me to get back to full duties at my work. The atmosphere at Activaid has been welcoming; their commitment to their patients is always evident. Thank you for all your help!

As an athlete who has participated in competitive sports since the age of 13yrs, I have had my share of injuries, including chronic shin splints, two arm fractures, and a torn meniscus in my knee. I have been forutnate enough to further my successful competition and training at a university level and experience a diverse range of rehabilitation techniques and professionals alike.
Upon completion of university in 2000, I took a break from high levels of competition and found myself participating in mostly recreational sports. Previous injuries felt like they were worsening despite the decreased level of activity and I was unsure if I would be able to even continue occasional activity. I needed help badly, and sought out Mark Louzon at Activaid.
I have been participating in physiotherapy and rehabilitation with Mark and Activaid for several years now, and my body is feeling physically better than ever! This led me to a return to pole vaulting and I am performing at levels now that I would never have thought when I retired from competitive sports 8 years ago. A second place finish at the Olympic Trials last year capped off a great season and I am now again determined to attain some outstanding goals.
Thanks to Mark, I feel stronger and faster than ever and utilize treatments to recover more quickly from injury and the consistent wear and tear on my body from daily training. Mark and the team at Activaid genuinely care about their clients; which is one of the most important assets a company like his has in this busy world today. Mark continually will look for improvements in my abilities, even when I don't ask.
I would strongly recommend an evaluation with Activaid not only to recover from an injury but also as an exceptional compliment to recreational or professional training and competition.
Thanks Mark!

The dedicated support and guidance regarding the rehabilitation process at Activaid has been exceptional for myself and my active family. I know I would not be as active today if it weren't for the devoted therapists and staff at Activaid. Right from walking through the door there is a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The entire team is courteous and sympathetic to your individual needs. I truly appreciate everything they have done for my entire family and never hesitate to recommend Activaid to friends.
After having surgery to repair a broken bone in my upper arm and many painful months of being immobilized, I commenced therapy at Activaid. In the beginning, I started seeing Susan three days a week in order to get my shoulder and elbow moving again. Through many, many hours of intensive physiotherapy, Susan and Mark were able to help me get back into the activities that I enjoyed before my surgery. Although, my orthopedic surgeon wasn't sure if I would be able to get full use of my arm back, the therapists at Activaid were very committed to my rehabilitation. After 6 months, I was able to return to ball hockey, skiing, working out at the gym and even started a new sport, golf!
In addition, my daughter Ally injured her knee during a soccer game last year. It was the day before her high school prom and we were concerned she would be unable to walk around for any length of time. I called Mark at Activaid and he was able to see her on the day of her prom and even loaned her a brace so she could walk around easier. We later learned that she had torn her ACL and needed surgery. Mark worked with her both pre and post operative. Ally felt at ease immediately at Activaid. Both Sara and Kelly were also very good and committed to helping her get back to her active lifestyle of playing soccer and hockey. Several years ago, my eldest daughter Kayleigh was also a patient at Activaid after she broke her leg and again a few years later after tearing ligaments in her ankle. Both times Susan was excellent in getting her back in shape. Today she is actively playing hockey and soccer with no pain in her lag or ankle.

On April 22, 2007 I was in a horrific automobile accident. I sustained injuries to my back resulting in a spinal cord compression at L1. I was paralized from the waist down. I can remember lying in the hospital praying that I would wake up from this nightmare. Well I didn't and it was reality. So my only option was to wait to see if I would have any recovery for the next few weeks. Nothing was happening, it was not looking good at all. I was having a lot of trouble accepting what had happened to me but after spending almost 5 months in the hospital it was time to come home. It was at that time that I had a meeting with the spinal cord specialist from Parkwood hospital. I remember going into a little room and my whole family was there. I had no idea what to expect. The conversation started with the doctor talking about getting our house safe for me. After a little time had passed, he looked at me with a very serious look on his face and said I would never walk again. It just was not possible with my type of injury. I can remember my whole world closing in on me. So my parents cried and I just went and laid in my hospital bed and watched all of my dreams pass me by.
It was time to go home but I was not that thrilled either way. Staying or going. I was given a list of physiotherapists. I read through all of the resumes and found Mark Louzon's the most attractive to me. And that is when my recovery began. Mark came to my parents home where I was living we started physio treatments. It was not easy at all. Mark, however, is very good at picking a person's spirits up and that helped a lot. After about 2 months of treatment I was actually starting to see some gains. It was incredible I had a little movement. I was so excited for the first time in 7 months and I had found a flicker of hope. So Mark kept pestering me about everything that I had to be doing and we were having weekly gains.
At this point in time, I'm still receiving treatment from Mark. The gains are much slower but I can currently walk with parallel bars as well as in the pool. I can wake up in the morning and say that it was all worth it thanks to Mark. When you have a catastrophic accident a lot of things change and if there is one thing you need it is a good physio that you can trust. Mark Louzon has made everything I have hoped for possible. I still don't know what made me pick that resume but I am so glad I did. I truly believe, as does my father who has watched over the long process, that the reason I'm doing as well as I am and not still laying around and having everyone take care of me is because of Mark Louzon.
Thanks for helping get my life back Mark.
